James McIntosh and Dr Thomas of Knit and Nibble will be speaking at Yarndale this year

And, we can't wait to go!

In James' talk at the British Knitting and Crochet Awards 2018 he said:

"Yarndale, I will be with you soon"... after all they have won so many awards for their events, and as a farmers son, James loves a party in a cattle mart!

and as if by magic... we will be there!

About Yarndale

Based in Skipton, Yorkshire, Yarndale is one of the must go to yarn festivals of the year. Now in it's 7th year, the formula is simple:

One can never have enough colour. Welcome to Yarndale
  • Take over the local auction mart
  • Fill it with colour
  • Have over 180 exhibitors
  • Share skills
  • Giggle
  • Go to workshops
  • Listen to James and Dr Thomas on the Sunday
  • Knit or crochet, or do both
  • Giggle
  • Discuss where to hide your newly acquired yarn stash with the people you meet, there is no shortage of people, over 8,000 attended last year
  • Giggle some more
  • Hear all about Knititation
  • Book ticket for next year

And, if that lot does not take your fancy, why not add in the below:

  • Felting
  • Dyeing
  • Weaving
  • Spinning
  • Lace making
  • Braiding
  • Embroidery

What have James and Dr Thomas planned?

It's all a bit hush hush for now.

However, we promise you a fun event and different from our normal talks.

Dr Thomas and James will be entertaining the masses about the story behind Knit and Nibble and how one stitch at a time helped James to knit myself back together after depression while Dr Thomas had to overcome the transformation of his home from quiet flat to a yarn store!

It's a story of love, adversity, stitches, self discovery and what life is like when faced with an illness. It won't be a doom and gloom afternoon ... Dr Thomas and James promise a time of laughter, anecdotes, the reality of depression and how James came through the other side, one stitch at a time.

They say laughter is the best medicine, combine that with knitting and honesty about one's feelings and we have a great potion for regaining self-worth to overcome depression.

When 29th September 2019 at 1pm
