Made in Hitchin - a creative crafting retreat

Dr Thomas Ernst and myself have the pleasure of speaking at Made in Hitchin - a crafting and mindfulness retreat in the wonderful Needham House Hotel in Little Wymondley, Hertfordshire.

Imagine having two whole days indulging in your favourite hobby with no cooking, cleaning or washing up!

Rather, it's a time to sew, knit or crochet, attend fantastic, skill-enhancing workshops, informative talks and a pop-up marketplace.

I will be talking about the story behind Knit and Nibble and how one stitch at a time helped me to knit myself back together after depression.

It's a story of love, adversity, stitches, self discovery and what life is like when faced with an illness. It won't be a doom and gloom afternoon ... I promise a time of laughter, anecdotes, the reality of depression and how I came through the other side, one stitch at a time.

They say laughter is the best medicine, combine that with knitting and honesty about one's feelings and we have a great potion for regaining self-worth to overcome depression.

Dr Ernst will be then speaking at how to use knitting and craft as a mindfulness practise and he will be explaining both how to practice mindfulness and the reasons why we should practise.

When 19th October 2019 at 11:45am - 1pm
